I've been busy making these....mandalas....
they are so fun but very therapeutic.
Creating mandalas is a very ancient Tibetan/Buddhist
practice and I can certainly understand why.
Notice the "eye" in the middle of the "Joy" word?
All of these, with the exception of the blue one below, are painted with Twinkling H2O's which are little cakes of watercolours....but
with minute particles of mica...
who doesn't like bling!
So, this one below is painted with Derwent Metallic coloured pencils
interspersed with regular coloured pencils.
Most of the lines in these mandalas are drawn freehand,
a method I prefer more than using a ruler.
The more you practice drawing a straight line, the more able you
are to get a straight line...if you know what I mean.
I should also mention that I use stencils when creating
mandalas. Genevieve over at Amaryllis Creations
sells the stencils. They are easy to use....
draw the geometric dots on the paper, then
have fun connecting the dots!
You can purchase them here.
I hope you like my mandalas, I know I do!!
