My Mandala Muse

I've recently discovered mandalas.

According to Wikipedia, a mandala is a concentric diagram, or in better described as a plan, chart or geometric pattern. Wikipedia further states..........

"....psychoanalyst Carl Jung saw the mandala as a "representation of the unconscious self and believed his paintings of mandalas enabled him to identify emotional disorders and work towards wholeness in personality....."

One thing is for sure, to create them takes a lot of focus and concentration. I can lose myself in their creation and is a great way to watch a tv show while still creating. I've created over 15 of them since my last post....so I've been busy focusing!!!

You can view my creations using the slideshow below or you can view them here.
Enjoy your visit!

  2. Why Mandalas?
I have been reading up on these some time ago and I love the geometric, repeating patterns. It reminds me a little of telemark rosemaling. These days I'm in a total creative slump. Do you think that creating Mandalas would be good therapy to get me jump started again?

  4. Enjoyed seeing your mandalas. I am almost finished with my first one that I made with the help of the videos on Vicki's blog. I'll have to post it when I am done with it. It didn't come out perfectly even (okay, its quite wonky) but I learned some while making it and want to make more. Yours give me more ideas to work with.
